Ari is a disabled writer and director living in Los Angeles, California. He loves to tell bittersweet stories blended with dark comedy and horror to highlight culturally diverse journeys surrounding mental health and identity. Ari writes detailed character-driven narratives drawing from his eclectic cultural and vocational background.
Ari is a mentee of Francis Galluppi (The Last Stop in Yuma County) and worked as a Showrunner Assistant for Melinda Hsu (Nancy Drew; Vampire Diaries) at ABC/20th Century Fox/Disney. His coming of age drama short film Essentially Amy has garnered 3.5 million views and counting on social media and has won several awards for writing and direction. His short horror film PROJECTION premiered at the “Sundance of Horror” Screamfest for its 25 anniversary. His horror screenplay BOTTOM FEEDER was ranked Coverfly Top 10% Ranked Projects and Top 20 Horror Features.
Born in Colorado, Ari comes from a mixed heritage background. He graduated as an engineer and Boettcher Scholar, however, his undying love for film and television brought him into the industry. Ari has resided and worked in China, Brazil, and more. Ari is also an accomplished public speaker, a mental health advocate, a published poet and scientist, Lindy Hop dancer, and martial artist.
